We believe that all learning and teaching that takes place at St. Mary’s Primary School, must be soundly based on Gospel Values. 

With regard to the way children learn, we believe that all children can learn and that the most effective learning takes place in a safe, positive and stimulating environment. 

This environment must extend well beyond the school setting. Central to effective student learning is the involvement of all stakeholders (children, teachers & parents). 

During their time at St. Mary’s, our students will be given the opportunity to:

In response to our beliefs about the way children learn, and about what they will become, we believe our teaching must reflect the best Catholic Christian example and professional standards. It must cater for the individual needs of children and allow them to receive positive feedback and a sense of achievement in a safe environment. 

It must also foster open communication between all the partners in student learning.
