SCHOOL LUNCHES & LUNCH ORDERS: 

As a nude food school please pack your child’s lunch with limited packaging and wrapping. Please also have easy to manage containers that your child can readily open and close. 

The children are able to order their lunch once a week. Our lunch orders are outsourced to Warrack Hot Bread Bakery. Price lists are found on our website. Please ensure that orders and correct money are sent along in well-sealed envelopes. The bakery does not provide change. 

The Parents’ Club does organise special lunch days from time to time. When these are held, prior notification is sent home through the newsletter. 

NEWSLETTER: 

The school newsletter uses Schoolzine software with the link emailed fortnightly and uploaded to the school website by Tuesday of that week. This is the main communication link between the school and home.

NAMING ITEMS: 

Please label your child’s name on everything - clothing, lunch boxes, drink, bottles, pencils etc. 

ART SMOCK: 

Children will need to have an art smock. We recommend purchasing these from the Woodbine shop as they are a heavier duty smock.

STUDENT ABSENCES: 

Parents or carers must ring the school or complete a PAM notification before 9am if their child is not attending school on that day. If this is not done, an SMS is sent to parents as a reminder. 

The children must be signed in and out through the office if they are late to school or leaving early. 

Parents must complete an Extended Absence Family Leave form if their child will be absent for an extended time due to family choice eg holiday. These forms are to be obtained from the Principal. 

PAM – Parent Access Module through SIMON 

Families are requested to download the SIMON Everywhere app on their phone. This is where all information such as school reports, relevant medical information and permission for excursions and camps are linked through this platform. This is accessible through computer desktop as well.

FACEBOOK PAGE 

The school also has a private, closed Facebook group page which parents and grandparents are allowed to join. For privacy, this page is not on the public domain.

School jumper, socks and blue polo tops, tracksuit pants and school hats are available from the school office.

GENERAL APPEARANCE: 

The school uniform is the public face of the school. It is expected that the children will take pride in their general appearance and wear the appropriate uniform (general uniform or sports uniform) in full and in a respectable manner. 

SCHOOL HATS: 

It is school policy that school hats must be worn during Terms 1 and 4, whenever the children are outside. Occasionally in other terms, if the UV index is high, hats will be worn. The hats are kept at school. 

SCHOOL SHOES: 

Parents are asked to give special attention to the shoes children wear to school. 

The uniform regulations specify leather school shoes. There are many styles on the market that fit this description. However, parents are urged to avoid shoes that feature coloured stripes, logos or any other coloured decoration. 

NON-UNIFORM CLOTHING 

Should circumstances make it necessary for your child to wear non-uniform clothing to school, you are asked to provide items that are as close in colour and style to the uniform items being replaced. Clothing that features logos and slogans is not acceptable. In the case of footwear, sneakers should be the last choice alternative. If children will be out of uniform, a note needs to be provided in your child’s diary.

JEWELLERY: 

Jewellery is not considered part of the St Mary’s dress code and generally is not to be worn with the school uniform. However, the following exceptions apply: 

If your child has pierced ears: 

• only one stud per ear 
• no other "body piercing" adornments are permitted 
• plain studs or sleepers only (nothing that dangles or has jagged edges); studs to be no larger than the earlobe – gold/silver/navy or light blue only; no novelty earrings eg. butterflies etc; other colours can be worn on sports days and fundraising events. 
• Religious medals may be worn on a chain round the neck or on a pin. Care must be taken to ensure that these are worn in such a way as to be safe while the children are playing.
